Terms of service

These terms apply when you use UnfoldPDF, a service run by JDE Global Consulting Ltd. ("we"). By using the service or creating an account, you agree to them.

The service

UnfoldPDF converts PDF documents, including scanned ones, and single images such as photos or scans saved as JPG or PNG, into editable Word and plain-text files. Conversion uses automated text recognition, so results depend on the quality and layout of the original. Always check important documents before relying on them.

Your account

• Give a real email address you can access, and keep your password private.
• You're responsible for activity on your account. Tell us straight away if you think someone else has used it.
• One free trial per person. Creating extra accounts to get more free credits isn't allowed. The free trial is given once per email address (variants of the same address, such as one with a "+" tag, count as the same address, and so does an address whose account was deleted), to a limited number of accounts per network in 30 days, and not to temporary (disposable) email addresses. If the free trial was already used, your account still works and you can buy credits.

Your documents

• You keep all rights to the documents you upload and the files we create from them.
• You give us permission to process your documents only to provide the service to you.
• Only upload documents you have the right to use. Don't upload anything illegal or anything that infringes someone else's rights.
• Files are deleted automatically after the retention period shown on your dashboard, so download anything you want to keep.

Credits and payment

• Your account holds a balance of credits: the units you buy and spend on the service. Converting one page uses one credit. Translating a document uses credits according to its number of characters (not counting spaces or line breaks), at the rates shown before you confirm. Credits may also be used for other features we add. You choose which pages to convert, and see the price of a translation, before any credits are used.
• If a conversion or a translation fails, the credits set aside for it are returned automatically.
• Purchased credit packs don't expire. Free trial credits don't expire. A monthly plan's credits reset at the start of each billing period and don't roll over.
• Credits in your balance have no cash value and can't be transferred to another account.
• Payments are processed by Stripe. Refunds are covered by our refund policy.

Fair use

Don't try to get around usage limits, overload or disrupt the service, access other people's files, or use automated tools to abuse the free demo. We may suspend accounts that do.

No guarantee

We work hard to make conversions accurate and the service reliable, but it is provided "as is". Translations are produced by machine and can contain mistakes; check important documents before you rely on them. We don't guarantee that every conversion or translation will be error-free or that the service will always be available.

Limit of liability

To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect or consequential losses, and our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer law that can't be limited.

Ending your use

You can stop using the service at any time and ask us to delete your account. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, and will tell you why unless the law prevents it.

Changes

We may update these terms. We'll change the date at the top and tell account holders by email about significant changes before they take effect.
